1st: SP 24-70mm F/2.8 Di VC USD, $1299 value

Tamron’s SP 24-70mm F/2.8 Di VC USD provides the perfect combination of features that pros appreciate. Camera shake is effectively neutralized by Tamron’s VC (Vibration Compensation) tri-axial image stabilization system that allows shooting at up to four-stops slower and provides a stable viewfinder image, even when panning. The circular diaphragm produces beautiful Bokeh; the sophisticated optical design delivers superior edge-to-edge sharpness; the USD (Ultrasonic Silent Drive) motor provides fast and quiet autofocus; and moisture-resistant construction and solid build top off this tool designed with the professional in mind. Engineered for full-frame Canon, Nikon and Sony DSLR cameras, and equally at home on cameras with smaller sensors.

2nd: 28-300mm Di VC PZD, $849 value

Tamron’s new 28-300mm Di VC PZD all-in-one zoom delivers brilliantly sharp images. The full use of specialized glass elements in its design contributes to making this outstanding lens as compact and lightweight as possible, while minimizing aberrations, resulting in superior image quality. The lens features Tamron’s VC image stabilization, PZD AF system, moisture-resistant construction, and 9-blade circular diaphragm. Equivalent maximum extended focal length on a DSLR with an APS-C size sensor is a whopping 480mm making the lens a favorite of APS-C photographers who need extra reach on the telephoto end when shooting sports, wildlife and street scenes. Also popular with photographers who own both formats of the same brand.

People’s Choice: SP 70-300mm Di VC USD, $449 value

Tamron’s SP 70-300mm Di VC delivers class-leading sharpness, brilliant color and striking contrast, and discriminative APS-C and full-frame digital SLR photographers alike are quick to laud its performance. The lens features Tamron’s USD (Ultrasonic Silent Drive) auto-focus drive mechanism and VC (Vibration Compensation) image stabilization, teamed with XLD (Extra Low Dispersion) and LD (Low Dispersion) glass in a 17 element, 12 group formula. APS-C-sensor photographers will enjoy extreme telephoto subject magnification, with a resulting picture angle range approximating a full-frame equivalent 109-465mm. Sharpness, enhanced by Tamron’s exclusive tri-axial VC image stabilization is amazing. Combating blur from camera shake, Tamron VC enables shooting handheld at as many as four shutter speeds slower than would be possible otherwise. Full-time manual focus makes fine tuning easy.
